Mehdi Mikaeilzadeh

I am a professional operatic singer and voice teacher, currently active in the international operatic stages, with professional performance experience across Europe and North America. I am a Canadian citizen from Montreal, and I hold a Bachelor of Music in Voice (Opera Performance) from McGill University, one of Canada’s leading music institutions. Alongside my performing career, I am deeply committed to vocal pedagogy and to helping singers develop healthy, expressive, and stylistically authentic voices.
As an opera singer, I am actively engaged in professional productions and concerts, with upcoming professional leading role engagements in Europe. This ongoing performance activity allows me to bring real-world, current industry experience directly into my teaching. I understand the practical demands of auditions, rehearsals, and performances, and I guide my students not only technically, but also artistically and professionally.
My teaching focuses primarily on classical voice, opera, and Bel Canto technique, with a strong emphasis on vocal health, breath management, legato singing, resonance, diction, and stylistic accuracy. I work with singers at various levels, from beginners who are discovering their voices for the first time, to advanced students and pre-professionals preparing for auditions, competitions, conservatory entrance exams, and professional engagements. I also offer focused coaching for opera roles, arias, art song, and audition repertoire.
Having studied and performed in multiple musical traditions, I bring a flexible, individualized approach to each student. No two voices are the same, and I believe strongly in adapting technique to the singer’s physiology, repertoire, and artistic goals rather than applying a one-size-fits-all method. My approach combines solid classical foundations with musical imagination, helping singers achieve both technical freedom and emotional communication.
Language and diction are a central part of my teaching. I work extensively on Italian, French, and English vocal repertoire, and I help singers develop clear, stylistically correct pronunciation and phrasing. Thanks to my multilingual background, I am able to teach and communicate fluently in English, Persian, and Turkish (native level), with professional proficiency in French and intermediate Italian. This makes my studio especially welcoming for international students and singers working across different operatic traditions.
In lessons, students can expect a supportive and focused environment where technical clarity and artistic growth go hand in hand. I emphasize sustainable vocal technique, body awareness, and efficient practice methods, ensuring that singers build voices that last over time. Whether the goal is improved vocal confidence, preparation for an important audition, or refinement of advanced operatic repertoire, my aim is to help each student reach their highest potential while maintaining vocal health and joy in singing.
Online lessons are conducted in a professional, structured format, making high-level operatic training accessible regardless of location. With today’s technology, I am able to offer detailed feedback on technique, sound production, interpretation, and musical style, just as effectively as in person.
