About the lessons
When you start out, your shoulders creep up, your wrists stiffen, and you hold your breath without even noticing. And there’s that frustrating gap between what you hear in your head and what comes out of your hands.
That’s where my lessons begin. I give you a solid framework to make real progress, without ever losing what makes beginners special: curiosity, instinct, desire.
· The body first. Before your fingers even touch the keys, we work on posture, relaxation, breathing and the right gesture. A free body means free playing.
· The ear next. Learning to listen to yourself, to find “the notes that love each other”, as Mozart is said to have put it, and to find your way around the keyboard by sound. Listening comes before theory; sound comes before the lesson.
· Expression last. Making the piano a space of your own, where you explore and keep coming back to with pleasure.
In practice, we work on:
- the pieces you love: classical, film music, pop;
- ear training and keyboard orientation, so you can play without depending on sheet music;
- improvisation and, for those who wish, composition.
If you already learn from sheet music, we’ll continue that way. And if you’d like an introduction to reading music, I’ll guide you through it.
The first lesson is about getting to know each other. You tell me what makes you want to play, I discover your level and how you learn, and you leave with a first concrete goal.
I teach children, adults who have always dreamed of playing, and those who stopped one day and want to start again differently.
About me
I’ve been playing the piano for 10 years. I started on my own, playing the pieces I loved, guided by instinct and a love of sound. Very soon, I began composing.
That freedom gave me a natural, curious and emotional connection to the instrument. It also left me with bad habits, which I had to completely correct when I joined the conservatoire. I spent two years there and completed the second cycle in music theory.
So I’ve known both paths: instinct without structure, and structure that rebuilds. My way of teaching comes from this dual experience: saving you the time I lost, while preserving your freedom.
Today, I perform regularly as a pianist in upscale hotels and on river cruises, and I compose my own music.
