| About |
I studied cello with Hannah Roberts (current teacher of Sheku Kanneh-Mason) at Chetham’s School of Music, where I won a scholarship to the Royal Northern College of Music.
I am an experienced freelance orchestral and chamber musician, having performed in leading UK venues with renowned groups. I have recently played section principal with the British Philharmonic Orchestra, performed with Caroline Pether (leader of Manchester Camerata) on a quartet project and am a member of the innovative Sterling Ensemble, with an upcoming lunchtime concert at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester.
I love teaching committed students of all ages and abilities and for those who want to follow the ABRSM route, I have a 100% pass rate among my students and an experienced accompanist who puts them at ease in what can be a stressful moment!
Music Qualifications & Achievements:
In addition to my musical training mentioned above (and grade 8 distinction), I also have a honours degree from King’s College London and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education. I have a wide experience of educating children and adults in different disciplines, which has helped me become a more reflective practitioner with an ability to transfer my broader pedagogical skills to teaching the cello.
