About Jack Rowe
Hi, I’m Jack — a professional musician, performer, and dedicated guitar teacher with over 25 years of experience playing in bands and more than 20 years of teaching students of all ages and abilities.
Music has been at the centre of my life for as long as I can remember. Although I’m primarily a self-taught guitarist and vocalist, my journey through the music industry has allowed me to develop a broad and practical understanding of performance, songwriting, technique, musicianship, and live playing. Over the years, I’ve worked in a variety of music-related roles, gaining valuable real-world experience that I now bring directly into my lessons. Around 12 months ago, I made the decision to move into teaching full time so I could focus entirely on helping others develop their skills and confidence as musicians.
I teach electric guitar, acoustic guitar, bass guitar, and vocals, offering lessons that are completely tailored to each individual student. Every musician has different goals, and I strongly believe lessons should reflect that. Whether your ambition is to confidently play songs around a barbecue, perform live with a band, write your own music, improve your technique, or gain a deeper understanding of how the instrument works, I’ll help you get there. My aim is to teach you what you want to learn — not overload you with things you don’t.
Whether you’re picking up an instrument for the very first time, returning to music after a break, or already an experienced player looking to broaden your abilities and musical understanding, I can help guide you towards your goals in a supportive and enjoyable environment.
My teaching style is friendly, patient, and flexible. I believe lessons should be engaging and rewarding while still providing students with a strong foundation in technique, timing, creativity, ear training, theory, and performance skills where appropriate. Everyone learns differently, so I adapt my teaching methods to suit each student’s pace, interests, and preferred styles of music. From rock and blues to indie, acoustic, alternative, and more, I aim to make every lesson both inspiring and practical.
I currently offer tuition in:
Electric Guitar – Advanced level
Acoustic Guitar – Intermediate to Advanced level
Bass Guitar – Beginner to Intermediate level
Vocals – Beginner to Intermediate level
Lessons are available either in person in Harworth, near Doncaster, or online via Microsoft Teams, making it easy and convenient to learn from wherever you are.
Above all, my goal as a teacher is to help students enjoy music, build confidence, and develop skills that last a lifetime. Learning an instrument should feel exciting, motivating, and accessible, no matter your starting point. If you’re looking for a relaxed but professional teacher with decades of real-world musical experience, I’d love to help you on your musical journey.
