About Joanne Vun

Cancelation & Rescheduling Policy

Cancellation & Scheduling Policy

1. General Attendance & Notification

  • Notice Period: Students must provide at least 24 hours’ notice during working hours to be excused from a lesson.

  • Last-Minute Cancellations: Any cancellation made with less than 24 hours’ notice is considered “last-minute” and will not be replaced or refunded.

  • Public & School Holidays: Lessons proceed as usual during school holidays unless the administration provides specific notification otherwise.

2. Replacement Lessons (Make-up Classes)

  • Eligibility: Replacement classes are only provided for excused absences (with valid notice).

  • Annual Limits: Each student is entitled to a maximum of 8 replacement lessons per year (split as 5 for personal reasons and 3 for medical leave).

  • No “Rolling” Replacements: A scheduled replacement class cannot be rescheduled again. If a student misses a confirmed replacement slot, that lesson is forfeited.

  • Group Classes: Students enrolled in group lessons (e.g., Little Prodigies) are not entitled to replacement classes due to the nature of group instruction.

3. Long-Term Absence & Slot Reservation

  • Slot Retention: To reserve a specific timeslot during a full month’s absence, a minimum payment equivalent to two (2) lessons is required for that month.

  • Slot Release: If this retention fee is not paid, the timeslot will be released to other students and must be rescheduled upon return, subject to availability.

  • Fee Deductions: If a fee deduction is approved for absence, the deduction is calculated based on the One-Off Lesson Rate, not the pro-rated monthly fee.

4. Termination of Enrolment

  • Notice Period: A minimum of 4 weeks’ advance notice is required to terminate lessons.

  • Eligibility: Termination notice can only be given after completing the first full month of lessons.

  • Withdrawal: Immediate withdrawal without the 4-week notice period does not exempt the student from the fees due for that period.

5. Special Package Policies

  • Lesson by Credit:

    • Credits are valid for 3 months (for the 8-lesson package).

    • Rescheduling requires 48 hours’ notice.

    • No refunds or credits are returned for last-minute cancellations.
