I have always loved all types of music. I first started having private guitar lessons at seven years old, learning Spanish/Classical guitar and working my way through sitting the grade exams.

By the time I was a teenager, I also began having private lessons in both electric and bass guitar, as I wanted to expand into playing other types of music and playing in bands.

I passed grade exams in all three instruments, achieving Grade 8 level. I also passed both GCSE music and A Level Music at school and learned music theory. I have been a member of several bands over the years, playing rock, blues and jazz, and have played in local gigs and small venues.

I first began teaching guitar myself when I left school at age eighteen and I have been teaching full time ever since- teaching both privately from my own home and also in several local schools (both primary and secondary).

I give one-to-one individual lessons in Spanish/Classical, electric and bass guitar, including most styles of guitar music. I also currently teach guitar in a local primary school each week. I am fully DBS checked.

My pupils range in ages from four years old, through to teenagers and retired adults. All pupils are welcome, from complete beginners to intermediate level.

I specialise in helping very young children and older retirement age adults to get started in learning to play the guitar. It’s never too early, or too late, to start!

Private lessons are held in a purpose built teaching room at my home and pupils can choose either to sit grade exams, or simply to learn to play for fun. I always aim to create a relaxed, encouraging environment, where pupils can progress at their own individual pace.
