Jane Bowns

I started learning Classical and acoustic guitar through having private lessons myself, aged seven. I passed my grades and soon expanded into playing both electric and bass guitar to a high level, too. Over the years I have played in several well known local bands, performing gigs at local venues in and around Sheffield.

I first began teaching when I left school and have never stopped teaching since then. As well as teaching privately, I have taught in several local schools over the years, at both primary and secondary level. I’m still teaching in schools today.

Private lessons are held in a ground floor purpose built teaching room at my home in Sheffield. I love teaching pupils of all ages, from 4 year olds through to older, retirement aged adults and every age in between. It’s never too early or too late to start learning. I offer lessons for all levels, from beginners upwards, in all styles. I always strive to make lessons as encouraging, supportive and reliable as possible, so individual pupils can explore music and learn at their own pace. Pupils can choose to either sit grade exams, or simply learn to play for fun.
