About James Coleman
23-year-old performer and guitar teacher with over 10 years experience and a degree from the University of Westminster in music performance and BTEC level 3 Extended diploma is music with a triple distinction.
I valve myself as being a very patient and understanding person when it comes to teaching the guitar, my lessons are always a comfortable friendly environment where my only goal is to make you the best player you can be.
Guitar has been my passion for as long as I can remember and my aim as a teacher is to instil this passion into my students. I feel that learning the guitar is not just about knowing chords, scales and passing grades, but knowing how to use these skills to write songs, create melodies, having a great guitar tone and playing killer solos by yourself, in a band or with Friends.
I have extensive performing experience in a wide range of different genres and I am more than happy to personalise your guitar learning experience with these things in mind. I also cover string changing, guitar maintenance tips and showing you a vast array of musicians that you can draw experience from to help your playing.

Music Qualifications & Achievements:
- Bachelor of music with honours in music performance from the University of Westminster
- BTEC level 3 extended diploma in Music
- Degree level Music Theory
- I have done several tours and festivals in the UK as a lead guitarist with bands, in both Rock & Ska music scenes
- I have been playing live music for over 10 years, through this I have in-depth knowledge of all guitar styles & a vast understanding of improvisation techniques
- I have studied & have had multiple masterclasses with renowned guitarist Tommy Emmanuel
- Studied with multiple songwriters and renowned poets such as Peter Nevland
