Graham Walker

I am a professional working drummer so have an enormous amount of experience in the real world of playing drums in a professional environment.
I decided to start teaching after being persuaded by a friend to teach his son and found it extremely rewarding in what I gained from pupils while teaching them.
I have played in many situations, recording successful singles and albums, world tours, theatres, local gigs, functions, cruises etc. all of which have given me the ability to teach from real experiences.
I use the rockschool books as the basis of my lessons which I find work really well. The students are able to play along with recorded tracks while seeing the notated parts. Students can learn via the grades system with exams but some choose to learn without exams and others want specific technique lessons to benefit their playing. All are welcome, beginners to advanced.
I teach in my own soundproofed studio with recording facilities and there is parking too.
My studio has two drum kits set up, one for student and one for me to demonstrate. This allows the student to read the part and hear and see it being played. I like to get students playing songs very quickly and employ the drum rudiments in their learning process.
