Kris Tearse

Hi, I’m Kris, creator of Drum Easy and a professional drum teacher with over 15 years of teaching experience and more than 30 years of drumming experience.

Drum Easy was developed after years of working with students who found traditional music notation overwhelming or difficult to engage with. The system uses clear visual learning methods to help students start playing drums quickly while building confidence, coordination, timing, and musical understanding.

A large part of my teaching career has involved supporting SEND learners, including students with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and other additional learning needs. As a result, Drum Easy has been designed to be accessible, structured, and easy to follow, making it suitable for a wide range of learners and learning styles.

I teach students from age 7 upwards, from complete beginners through to those working towards graded examinations. For students wishing to take exams, I have maintained a 100% pass rate across both Trinity Rock & Pop and RSL Awards examinations.
