I have a friendly and fun step by step approach to teaching drums at the student’s own pace and encourage use of the Rockschool Syllabus as it is designed to develop the same real skills used by professional drummers, helping them achieve high standards recognised by musicians and music establishments worldwide.
I am passionate about the drums and have a huge amount of professional performing/touring/tv/radio/theatre/recording experience working with many famous names and in prestigious venues. I play and teach all styles and specialise in Pop, Rock, Jazz, Jazz/Funk and Latin styles.
I also teach latin percussion instruments which are used widely in pop music and jazz.
I teach all aspects of drumming alongside essential music theory and style focus with an awareness of correct posture, grip, relaxation, kit set up and optimal body mechanics for the ultimate playing experience.
I encourage students to listen to the very best drummers in the many diverse styles to gain inspiration and understanding of the possibilities open to them on this exciting instrument.
