About

About

I have been utterly invested in music since my early adolescence, starting out initially as a drummer and then moving into a study of harmony and composition during my years studying at a contemporary music academy developed my love for piano playing. I am active as a touring and session musician, having toured the world playing with various acts and being recognised for my abilities as a composer in 2017 when an album I composed was charted at #6 and #10 respectively on Billboard’s hard rock and new artist charts.

I have been invested in teaching music for roughly three years now. My approach is based on an integrated understanding of music theory designed to equip my students with a deep understanding not only of the science of harmony but of the science of learning how to acquire new skills, informed by a wealth of modern discovery and understanding. This allows my students to be able to think musically and develop intuition so that they can be free to define their own personal relationship with music.

My daughter (aged 8) has had 2 lessons with Daniel so far. I find his approach is encouraging, patient and considered. He has a lovely teaching style and is flexible in his approach to keep a young person engaged and interested. He’s reliable and responds quickly to messages.

My daughter’s review is: “He is patient and kind. He explains things carefully and makes me feel like I’m doing a good job. He makes learning fun and is very patient”

After searching for drum lessons with double pedal techniques in Leicester, I was recommended to contact Daniel by another drum teacher who said: “He’s a great bloke, really professional, really intense, and breathtakingly good. He’s really the only one in Leicester good enough if I’m honest.” – he wasn’t wrong!

Great atmosphere with a very experienced and extremely patient drum teacher. A very knowledgeable guy who explains things clearly, without making them boring! Dan has helped me to read music and after each lesson he emails me the rudiments/drum patterns etc that we’d covered, for me to practice.

Sign up. Take lessons. Give Dan a try. You won’t be disappointed. No matter what your skill level, I am confident that Daniel is the drum teacher for you.
