About Conor McParland

Hi, I’m Conor! I’m a touring musician, bandleader, songwriter and guitar teacher with 21 years of playing experience and 11 years working professionally in the music industry.

I graduated from the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford, where I studied Performance and Guitar Theory. Since then, I’ve had the pleasure of touring with bands all over the world, performing at hundreds of festivals, including Glastonbury, Reading, Isle of Wight, Boomtown, Download and Sziget, to name just a few.

Alongside my career as a musician, I’ve spent the last 8 years teaching guitar and music through various music schools and organisations. I’ve also held the position of Head of Guitar at Good Vibes Music Academy, overseeing a department with over 80 weekly students.

As a songwriter and performer, my own musical projects have collectively gained over 500,000 streams across streaming platforms, with performances throughout the UK and Europe.

Teaching style & philosophy

I specialise in guitar, music theory, songwriting and live performance. Whether you’re picking up a guitar for the first time, looking to develop your technique, wanting to understand the theory behind the music you love, or hoping to write and perform your own songs,we can do it all !

My approach is relaxed, encouraging and judgement-free. I want students to feel comfortable experimenting, making mistakes and stepping outside their comfort zone. I believe each lesson should as individual as the people I am teaching.

I believe every lesson should be tailored to the individual, taking into account their interests, goals, needs and the things that inspire them. Everyone learns differently, and I want to make sure we’re working towards something that genuinely excites you.

Learning an instrument can be life changing.. so let’s begin !
