Byung-ook Kim

Byung-ook is a classical guitarist and lutenist. In 2019, He moved from South Korea to the UK to study Guitar and Lute at the Royal College of Music, graduating in 2024. Currently, He’s actively performing with various musicians. Having originally studied engineering and starting the music education later than most, he deeply understands the challenges of learning an instrument for the first time and the immense value it brings. As a teacher, He aims to share not only technical skills but also diverse ideas and inspirations with his students through lessons in guitar or lute.

As he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Guitar and a Master’s degree in Lute, he offers professional lessons ranging from Renaissance and Baroque lute pieces to modern classical guitar repertoire. He has experience teaching students of various ages and skill levels, including an extensive period teaching guitar at a primary school. Lessons are tailored to each student and can range from 30 minutes to an hour, depending on their needs and preferences.
