About Ben Connor

With over a decade of experience spanning the creative, digital, and educational sectors, I am a passionate educator and multi-instrumentalist dedicated to nurturing the next generation of musical talent. As a Curriculum Lead and Music Technology specialist, I bridge the gap between traditional performance and modern production.

My teaching philosophy centers on a holistic approach to music-making:

Guitar Instruction: I provide specialised, one-on-one private lessons tailored to individual student needs, focusing on technique, theory, and personal expression.

Composition & Curriculum: I have designed and implemented comprehensive performing arts programs, integrating transdisciplinary units that connect music with humanities and language.

Mixing, Mastering & Technology: With a BSc (Hons) in Music Technology and professional experience as a sound engineer, I provide expert instruction in Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) like Pro Tools and Ableton. I teach students the nuances of sound design, recording techniques, and the technical artistry of mixing and mastering to industry standards.

I thrive on turning complex creative ideas into meaningful outcomes, whether guiding a student through their first composition or managing the technical logistics of a live performance. My goal is to empower students with both the creative confidence and the technical proficiency required to succeed in the modern music industry.
