About

About

After many years on the stage and in the studio, Ayesha decided to consolidate her experience and knowledge with some further training and teaching qualifications. Particularly inspired by the “sound before symbol” Kodàly approach to children’s music education, she gained her Professional Certificate of Primary Music Education from the British Kodàly Academy. She is an RSL qualified Performing Arts teacher (Singing specialist) through Stagecoach UK and a Rockschool Contemporary Vocals exam practitioner. Her personalised voice coaching is a dynamic and experiential learning experience, so children ‘learn by doing’ and can internalise new techniques quickly, always being encouraged to experiment beyond their comfort zone in a vocally safe way. Students will not only expand their musicianship skills, but also hone their stage craft, performance and mic techniques, working on important aspects such as communication, connection and improvisation.

Her passion for leading singing groups, as well as individuals, led her to continue her studies with the great UK based Voices Foundation and Sing Up! as well as taking courses with the revered British choir conductor and pedagogy expert Amy Bebbington and Catalan conductor legend Elisenda Carrasco.

Drawing on her extensive real-life experience as a professional pop musician, her stint with the experimental electronic a cappella group Man ex Maqina, as well as her years with professional choir Voxalba and vocal quartet Voxelements has given her a unique angle to conducting singing ensembles: She weaves vocal percussion (beatbox), harmonies, looping technology and advanced vocal technique into a fascinating repertoire of pop, folk, world, jazz and classical music. Always ready to explore new horizons and incorporate the singers’ own creative ideas means her sessions are a fun, collaborative and musically enriching experience.
