About Alex Nutt
I have a BA in Music from the University of Southampton. I tailor the lessons towards the needs of the student, whether it’s a relaxed hobby or the desire to take exams. Even if the student wishes to take exams, I believe enjoyment, and truly understanding the music is far more important than just aiming to pass the exam. Enjoyment leads to exam success naturally.
I also teach music theory up to grade 6. This is an area that a lot of students find dull (I admit!) but it is necessary to learn theory not just to pass your grade 5, but to have a deeper understanding of the music you learn. This is why I teach theory in an engaging and supportive manner.
I am friendly, approachable and highly motivated to see my students succeed to become great performers, not just to pass exams.
