About

About

My name is Alberto Giaccone. I am a trumpet player and a chef from Italy.

I am currently studying music at Edinburgh College. I have been living in Edinburgh for four years. I have experience teaching trumpet (level beginner to advanced ). I have experience teaching music theory ( Grade 1 to 7). I have played the trumpet since childhood in many ensembles and orchestras, taking lessons with different teachers which sparked my passion for music.

At Edinburgh College, I have had the pleasure to meet some fantastic tutors and colleagues with whom I work on exciting projects. Together with them, especially with my trumpet tutor Finlay Hetherington, I prepared my solo repertoire for the final recital. I was also part of many ensembles in which I had great performances. I took part in masterclasses with Sarah Willis and Steven Isserlis. I am very enthusiastic about my studies at Edinburgh College.

In addition to the music course, I am currently taking private trumpet lessons with Mr Ondrej Soukup, who was the musical director of Edinburgh University Music Society (EUMS) and a member of the Royal College of Music (RCM). Recently I was successful in two trumpet auditions for Edinburgh University Music Society (EUMS) and for Edinburgh University Chamber Orchestra (EUCO). I am currently playing as a principal trumpet for EUCO, in collaboration with Edinburgh Studio Opera (ESO) and many professional conductors. I was the assistant principal trumpet for several years at the “Filarmonica San Marco” a group of talented amateur musicians.

Recently I have created a YouTube channel “chefbertu” uploading my musical works alongside content relating to the kitchen, my other passion.
