I graduated from the renowned BRIT School with top marks before earning a First-Class Honours degree in Music from the University of Surrey. My academic focus on jazz composition and advanced harmony continues to shape and inspire both my teaching and my playing today. With more than 15 years of piano experience and eight years of teaching, I’ve worked with students aged 3 to 60+, from complete beginners to advanced players preparing for diplomas. I teach in a wide range of styles—including classical, jazz, and popular music—and always strive to make lessons enjoyable, creative, and rewarding. Whether your goal is to perform Chopin, explore jazz improvisation like Bill Evans, or simply play your favourite songs for fun, I’m committed to helping you reach your goals. Alongside teaching, I also work as a session musician and composer, collaborating with acclaimed artists across different genres—experience I bring into my lessons to keep them fresh, relevant, and inspiring. For students who want to deepen their understanding of music, I also offer engaging music theory lessons (classical or popular). I’m passionate about making theory practical and accessible, helping you build a solid foundation that enhances everything you play.

Gene has gained a wealth of music knowledge after touring Europe and the UK playing in several high-profile bands over the last 25 years. He strives to pass on this knowledge to other musicians and his students, and he is keen to develop their passion for music. Gene has achieved a successful teaching business which was started in Jan 2012, and has taught hundreds of students over the last decade both privately and within schools, with 100% pass rate for exams through Rock School, ABRSM and Trinity Rock and Pop syllabuses. Gene delivers personalised lessons to suit the needs of each individual learner. He really understands how to make music accessible to all. Gene has expanded his knowledge by studying a degree in music at Nexus ICA in Coventry. After working as a music provider for a year at the Cube Disability, Northampton, he is widening his teaching scope and pursuing a master’s degree in music therapy to provide therapy to all ages. Helping to improve the quality of life for children and adults with learning difficulties. He is passionate about helping others to feel a sense of achievement and well-being and through his passion in music he is achieving this. Gene has an innate understanding of the power of music in improving mental wellbeing and supporting neurodiversity. Gene has recorded, managed, and performed nationally and internationally with many bands since the age of 14. He has been Musical Director for a George Michael tribute show and Soul of the Town Motown and Soul show band. He currently still performs keys regularly with a popular covers band, as well as playing saxophone and piano for wedding guests and corporate clients. Hi! I’m Niall - a Guitar Tutor and Producer, based in Birmingham and the West Midlands with over 17 years of experience in the music industry. I hold a Bachelors degree in Music Performance, which I attained in 2017, graduating with a 1st for performance. Originally self taught, I studied under a number of renowned musicians to develop my skills and knowledge before embarking on my own career as a professional musician. I always tailor my teaching methods to each pupil, with a unique focus on you as an individual.
