G’day, I’m Guy. An Australian born multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, producer, and performer based in Brighton and London. After 3 years of being self-taught I began my professional career at the age of 17, playing in covers bands and committing hours of non stop focus to my musical development. Given my shared enthusiasm to playing and performing, I quickly began to realise that there was a real drive to construct, write and execute compositions whilst demonstrating a true passion for emotive storytelling. Over the past 17 years I have been fortunate to tour the UK, work with internationally renowned producers and musicians, played on several of the UK’s music festivals stages and multiple projects I have worked on and have received international radio broadcasts including national UK stations such as BBC Radio ONE and BBC Radio 6 Music. Since 2018 I have been teaching and mentoring students of all levels. From beginners to intermediate teachers finding their feet within another musical medium. I’ve helped develop students on a range of instruments including; Guitar, Bass Guitar, Piano as well as helping singers and producers to develop their musicality and evolve their unique musical voice. I was inspired to start teaching shortly after realising a gap within the tutor market. There wasn’t enough diversity across theoretical and practical knowledge. Two of the main requirements to keep up with a fast paced and forever changing landscape of the modern music world. My lessons are developed in collaboration with my students to produce bespoke content to enhance a more enjoyable learning experience. A creative life does need structure and a willingness to commit as well as a mentor that is patient and nurturing. I consult and collaborate with my students in order to help them reach their goals, whilst understanding that personal objectives may shift, or their latest band/project/student demands a new skill from them. As an example, a singing teacher may find that they need to up their piano skills to keep up with their students. Perhaps you are classically trained and can sight read, but you would like to develop your improvisational abilities… Or maybe you just decided that you lugging your keyboard to every show is too much and you want to learn your songs on guitar… These are the things that I excel at and inspire me to share my unique and modern approach to advancing your musical skills.

Kat Abel is a professional vocalist, pianist, and music educator with over eight years of experience in the industry. She has performed extensively across genres, from jazz and soul to reggae, gypsy, and Latin music, but her true passion lies in jazz and soul. Influenced by legends like Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald, as well as early 2000s icons like Beyoncé and Adele, Kat blends vintage charm with a modern edge in both her performances and teaching. As a music teacher, Kat specializes in vocal technique, stage presence, and musical expression, helping students build confidence and artistry. She also leads choirs, creating a welcoming and inspiring environment where singers of all levels can develop their skills and experience the joy of group performance. Kat’s lessons are student-led, allowing each individual to explore their musical interests while developing strong foundational skills. She believes that learning music should be both enjoyable and rewarding, tailoring her approach to each student’s goals—whether they want to refine their technique, build confidence in performance, or simply sing for fun. Her lessons incorporate engaging warm-up exercises to strengthen vocal control, followed by working on songs chosen by the students. She also integrates breathing techniques, somatic exercises, and music therapy-inspired practices to help students connect more deeply with their voice, reduce tension, and enhance overall well-being through singing. In addition to teaching, Kat is a session musician, collaborating with producers on top-line writing and creating music for sync placements. She performs regularly, playing shows with multiple projects across the UK and Europe. As a self-employed musician, she has built a successful career by forging strong relationships with venues, event organizers, and fellow artists, allowing her to maintain a dynamic and thriving presence in the industry.
