My name is Simon and I own White Dog Music, I am a London Music School graduate with 15+ years teaching experience I also hold a BA (Hons) in Music Industry Practice from The Academy Of Contemporary Music. During my time teaching guitar, bass guitar, drums & vocals (and some beginners piano). I have worked for many organisations including; The Berkshire Meastro's - Formally The Berkshire Young Musicians Trust, Music 4 Slough, The Rock & Pop Project and Bracknell & Wokingham Council (STARS). I have also taught in the following schools as a peripatetic: Charters (Ascot), Garth Hill (Bracnell), Strodes 6th Form (Egham), Farnborough College (Farnborough), Yately School (Yately), Leighton Park (Reading), Sandhurst Comprehensive. As a Rockschool tutor I have guided many students through the grade process, across multiple instrument. Glauco is a guitarist with over 25 years of playing experience who has performed on stages in the UK, Italy and the United States. Glauco holds a Master’s Degree in Music Composition from the University of Surrey, and a Bachelor’s Degree in guitar performance from the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford. He also studied guitar, bass, drums, piano and vocal technique at Città della Musica music school in Genoa, Italy. Glauco enjoys all genres of music with a particular interest in blues, rock, jazz and metal, and has a passion for music theory and composition. He loves to share his knowledge and experience of music with students of all ages and skill levels. Gemma is an experienced and busy instrumental teacher and examiner based in Surrey. With the experience of over 19 years teaching in 30+ schools behind her, she is highly regarded within her sector and feels just at home teaching adult 1-2-1 lessons, as a class of primary school children. Her philosophy revolves around the importance of teaching the fundamentals of ‘music’ through the chosen instrument, giving the student the creative ‘tools’ to be self-sufficient and expressive. Gemma has taught thousands of students to date, entering 350+ students into exams with 100% pass rate at merit or above. Gemma has high expectations of herself and all her students, and is pro-active within their education. Alongside teaching students their favourite songs, she promotes all styles of music and techniques to give students a well rounded music education to build upon. For example, a guitar student will learn how to: - Play a variety of styles of music from Rock and Pop to Classical and Jazz. - Master different techniques such as finger picking, plectrum picking, strumming styles and rest strokes. -Have a competent knowledge of reading notation and tab alongside chord and scale theory to enable creativity in improvising and song writing. Alongside numerous music qualifications including four ‘grade 8’ certificates, Gemma holds a BA (Hons) in Music from the University of Southampton with first class performing marks and a First Class Masters degree in ‘The Teaching Musician’ from the prestigious Trinity Laban Conservatoire. This course focussed on the pedagogy, learning theories and current ‘best practices’ within the sector, and is the only course of its kind in the UK. Gemma has been and RSL examiner since 2017, regularly examining candidates in the UK and internationally. Alongside teaching, Gemma performs with acoustic duo ‘Whitney & Stilwell’ and Southampton Grad Band. Outside of music, Gemma is a keen traveller and cyclist, embarking on at least one big adventure each year and slowly making her way around the world! Learn to play drumkit and percussion with experienced teacher Matthew Johns in Ash Vale, Surrey. Matthew Johns has taught drumkit and percussion to children and adults for over 15 years, including having worked as a full-time visiting music teacher with Hampshire Music Service between 2002 & 2014. Matthew holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), having completed a Graduate Teacher Programme (GTP) with Portsmouth University, and has an Enhanced DBS Certificate. He studied drumkit with Andy Bold & Paul Francis (Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel) and percussion with Cameron Sinclair (Philharmonia Orchestra) and Jackie Kendle (Royal Ballet) whilst studying for his BMus (Hons) Music Degree at Surrey University. Whilst studying for a Master’s degree in Composing for Film & TV at Kingston University, he won the Postgraduate Concerto Competition which gave him the opportunity to perform the Concerto for Vibraphone and Orchestra by Ney Rosauro with the university’s orchestra. Matthew has performed with a number of bands across a broad range of styles including rock, country and big band jazz. He was the timpanist with the Windsor and Maidenhead Symphony Orchestra for a number of years. He has also played with other orchestras, wind bands, in musicals and has been a regular player with the London School of Samba since 2010. He has performed at iconic venues such as the Royal Albert Hall and the London Olympic Stadium (as part of the flag handover presentation of Rio during the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympic Games). Matthew teaches privately from his home in Ash Vale, Surrey on a state-of-the-art Roland electronic drumkit. Matthew provides high-quality tailored lessons to suit your ability and desired goals. Lessons can include: learning a variety of styles (pop, rock, metal, reggae, blues and jazz etc), stick techniques, to read music, to play along to a click track, songs from your favourite bands, double-bass drumming, grade exams. Professional Drummer • Educator • Author • Examiner Philip Page has been a professional musician for over thirty years and an experienced drum teacher for more than twenty, having taught hundreds of students of all ages and abilities. He holds a Distinction in the RSL Level 6 Teaching Diploma and is an examiner and lead examiner with RSL Awards (Rockschool). As a performer, Philip has worked with a wide range of artists including Chris Rea, Andy Flanagan, and Mr E, and has featured on numerous recordings such as Seed’s debut single “Silver Lining” and their album “Midnight Walking” (AMG Records). Other credits include the “One Hope” album (ICC Records), live performances with Jazz Juice during the 2012 Olympic Torch Relay, and work with The Mouth of Ghosts, whose debut single “When the Sun Sets” was chosen as one of BBC Introducing’s Songs of the Year. Philip currently performs across the UK with Bye Bye Baby Live, The Ukes of Hazzard, The Tim Kay Band, Discovered, and Mumfudden Suns, combining a busy performing schedule with a thriving teaching career in and around London, as well as at the Ash Bash Drum School in Bracknell. He is the creator of the Easy Drums learning system — a structured pathway for beginners featuring Easy Drums Workbook 1 and accompanying online materials, videos, and digital downloads available at www.ppstix.com/easydrums. His Easy Drums YouTube channel and social media series offer short, accessible lessons designed to help new drummers develop confidence, coordination, and musical understanding from their first groove onwards. Philip is also the author of The Drum Syllabus Series and The Linear Matrix, two innovative resources that explore technical and creative drumming concepts in depth. Alongside his educational work, he continues to compose, score, and record, including writing and performing the drum parts for the musical “Legend” by Edwin Pillans.
