The accordion has been a central part of my life for as long as I can remember, and throughout the years it has become not just an instrument I play, but a true extension of who I am. I’ve devoted countless hours to mastering its expressive possibilities, from the gentle whisper of the bellows to the powerful, resonant chords that can fill an entire room with emotion. Now, one of my greatest passions is sharing that knowledge and love for the instrument with others through teaching. My musical journey has taken me through many genres and performance settings. I’ve played classical repertoire that demands precision and elegance, traditional folk tunes full of cultural character, energetic jazz pieces bursting with improvisation, and even modern and experimental styles that push the accordion into new territories. Kat Abel is a professional vocalist, pianist, and music educator with over eight years of experience in the industry. She has performed extensively across genres, from jazz and soul to reggae, gypsy, and Latin music, but her true passion lies in jazz and soul. Influenced by legends like Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald, as well as early 2000s icons like Beyoncé and Adele, Kat blends vintage charm with a modern edge in both her performances and teaching. As a music teacher, Kat specializes in vocal technique, stage presence, and musical expression, helping students build confidence and artistry. She also leads choirs, creating a welcoming and inspiring environment where singers of all levels can develop their skills and experience the joy of group performance. Kat’s lessons are student-led, allowing each individual to explore their musical interests while developing strong foundational skills. She believes that learning music should be both enjoyable and rewarding, tailoring her approach to each student’s goals—whether they want to refine their technique, build confidence in performance, or simply sing for fun. I am a drummer and drum teacher based in Edinburgh. I started playing music at the age of 8, and it has always been the greatest joy of my life. I have a thorough knowledge of many instruments, including accordion (under the guide of Maestro Giuseppe Piccirilli for 10 years), handpan, and my favourite of them all, the drums. I have been a drummer for years now, with the studio, live and teaching experience both in Italy and the UK. My ongoing project is the release of a full album with my newly formed punk rock band. As much as I love this instrument, I am well aware that is challenging and extremely rewarding, therefore I would like to contribute in the self-development of others as a teacher. I am passionate, and I assure you that every lesson will bring something new to the table. I take students of all ages and levels, and in my lessons I teach the basics as well as the different styles (such as rock, pop, metal and funk), making sure that each music program is tailored for that particular student. I have recently completed a diploma in teaching Music Level 4.
