Been a part of many musical ensembles, choirs, orchestras, wind bands, big bands, brass bands, rock groups and duo’s from a very young age.
My proudest moment as a music teacher was working with a group of Year 6 students in a special needs school. Together we wrote and performed a song that expressed their excitement and fears about leaving primary school and heading to secondary school. Witnessed a group of young students engaging in the creative process and taking ownership of their own creation was what every music teacher hopes to see during their career.
