Hello everyone, my name is Rachel Hoffman & I'm a professional Cello teacher offering high quality cello lessons for students of all ages via Skype. My lessons via skype are relaxed and you can learn in a direction that you feel comfortable with. My lessons will also be at a pace that you feel comfortable with and I welcome students of all ages to learn with me.
My cello lessons are always both fun and informative. Learning from skype is often considered not as personal and not as good an experience as face to face but I aim to prove this wrong with my lessons. Learning via skype is fun and generally through one to one lessons I like to build a great relationship with all of my students. My lessons are built around you and you will learn the music and styles that you're interested in.
I take my lessons via Skype & Zoom. This is great because it means you can learn from the comfort of your own home which also means no travel time. Especially for those who live in big cities, it can end up taking a few hours to visit a teacher but when learning online it's far easier to fit into your daily schedule. Learning from home in a comfortable environment is also a great way to make fast progress & it also enables students to learn as and when they like.

I have a great deal of experience in teaching beginners & will always make sure I make a lesson plan that suits your ability level. I've taught young learners all the way to adults in the past and I maintain a high level of tuition quality for all. If you'd like to to start learning, it's never to early or too late, I'll make a lesson plan that suits your needs and experience as a learner.
I mostly teach and play classical but if you're interested in other styles then please let me know and I would be happy to help you learn other styles that you enjoy. I can also help my students learn towards graded exams. Please let me know before you take lessons as to where you would like to go with them.
Lessons are pay-as-you-go, weekly, fortnightly or as suits you.
I welcome both beginners and advanced players to take my lessons. I will make a lesson plan that suits your needs as a player and learner. I teach students of all levels so please feel free to let me know your learning level and I will organise our plan accordingly.

I studied at the Royal Northern College of music and have received a 1:1 Bachelors of Music degree with Honours. As well as a private cello and violin teacher,I'm currently the cellist for the UK's no.1 tribute band. I regularly perform with my quartet and have a passion for teaching and chamber music.
I was taught by the Dalcroze and Kodaly methods from a young age and incorporates these methods into her own teaching through movement and sol-fa

I'm able to teach a wide range of styles.
I have several years of experience teaching children to adults, and all abilities. I have found that pupils often have concerns regarding performing with others in the fear of not feeling adequate.
It has been a pleasure to see pupils grow in confidence and realise their worth as an aspiring musician. In lessons it is a priority of mine to make pupils feel at ease and comfortable enough to make and learn from mistakes
I believe that encouraging technique, musicality and confidence in a relaxed and supportive environment is most important to unlock a pupil's musical potential.
Learning via Skype is in fact, a really easy and simple process.
Many people these days are choosing to learn online due to how easy it is to do so. I teach via Skype and Zoom to students form all over the world.
You need to make sure you have an internet connection of around 5MBPS & a up to date laptop, webcam & then you're good to go.

My lessons are charged at £13 per half hour and £26 per hour.
I take all of my lessons via skype and also offer lessons via zoom.
I teach both adults and children ages 4 and above.
Weekly lessons are the best way to improve your playing over a short space of time.
Lessons cancelled with less than 48 hours notice will still be charged full price.
