Danny is a fantastic teacher and he makes learning the cello feel more approachable and less intimidating for me as an adult beginner. He always has fun anecdotes which make lessons more enjoyable and help me remember techniques more easily. I’m really looking forward to more lessons and making further progress.

We know him as Danny, and he is excellent! Lovely guy, and really insightful teacher. Has an excellent way to explain things about music & how to play the cello.

It’s been a year now, and with the help of my cello teacher, I’ve been able to finish suzuki book 2 in no time, and play some of my favorite pieces.

My teacher has a great sense of humor, he’s fluent in English, Cantonese and Chinese, and every time I take a lesson, I feel happy and fulfilled, and he always gives me encouragement and feedback, so I’m sure I’ll continue to learn cello in the future.

He is amazing with encouraging his students to get better at playing, regardless of student’s age. He’s very knowledged and he’s very good at noticing when something needs an improvement.

Danny is an absolutely fantastic teacher! I have only been learning cello with him for a short time but have already seen myself improve so much due to his brilliant teaching technique and his helpful hints and tips. I very much enjoy our lessons and can’t wait to see how I continue to progress.

Kung Shing (Danny) Kwan is an excellent cello teacher. As a retired music teacher but beginner cellist myself, I was looking for a teacher who was knowledgeable, skillful and committed to teaching. Danny demonstrates all these qualities, and more. He teachers with kindness, patience and encouragement, and my fortnightly lessons with him are a joy. I learn something new at every lesson and my progress has been rapid. I highly recommend him to anyone who wishes to learn and enjoy playing the cello.
