About

About

I am a passionate musician who lives and breathes all things guitar and music in general. I have been playing the guitar since I was 11 years old and I have been teaching since I was 17. Over the years I have taught many students from all walks of life. I have experience as a Private one to one tutor as well as a peripatetic teacher who has worked in multiple schools across the city in my hometown teaching students of all ages.

For years I have performed and toured extensively all over the UK and have a handful of international shows in Europe, Australia and the USA under my belt. I used to play on the Weddings/Festivals circuit performing a wide variety of music from all different styles and genres at all kinds of events. I’ve also been a member of multiple original projects and in my most current one, we’re lucky enough to have been offered a record deal and have performed at various venues all over the country as part of full UK tours. Teaching/Performing and recording music is my true passion and I love to share these skills with my students.

I have graduated from University and have a degree in Music Performance and Popular Music and I take pride in offering the highest quality guitar lessons I can to students of any age or ability. Thanks to the power of modern day technology, I also offer online lessons using things like Zoom, WhatsApp, Facetime or Skype. Because of this I currently teach students from all over the world in all different time zones. I love seeing my students discover their passion for music and watching them improve and develop each week between our lessons.

I believe I am a friendly teacher who offers a relaxed and comfortable learning environment for all of my students. I am a versatile teacher who is confident in playing and teaching in any style of music or genre. Whichever direction you would like to take the lessons is absolutely fine by me.

I have experience in teaching Music Theory classes also, as I like to help my students not only improve at playing their instrument but also improve as a general all round musician too. Having a wide general understanding of all things music can be largely beneficial and allows you to be more creative when it comes to composing or improvising your own guitar sections.

I also offer piano lessons to any students who are interested. Playing piano is such a fun and rewarding instrument that really encourages you to learn the ins and outs of music and really helps you grow as an all round musician.

I offer beginner piano lessons up to an intermediate level. The Piano lessons I provide are tailored to not only teach you how to play your favorite piano songs, but I will also offer insight and explain what’s going on behind the scenes of the songs as we learn them too. I have worked with Piano students both in a private setting and while working in schools in my local area, so I have a wide range of experience working with students from all backgrounds and walks of life.

My main piano specialty lies in playing pop songs by some of todays biggest artists, although I can play in other styles and genres too such as blues, classical, funk etc. Whether you have never played the piano before, or you can already play a little and just want to get to that next level, my lessons are suitable for anyone.

When I am not teaching the guitar I am playing/performing it and writing/recording my own songs and I still enjoy this as much today as I did when I very first started. I feel that having all this real world experience has allowed me to offer high quality and professional guitar lessons that are adapted and tailored to suit any students of any age or ability

Cancelation & Rescheduling Policy

I try to be flexible on lesson cancellations as I understand that things pop up from time to time. If a lesson needs to be cancelled, I am always happy to reschedule the lesson for the a different day or time that suits you better so the lesson doesn’t need to be missed. If however the lessons does need to be skipped, which is completely understandable from time to time, there is a 48 hour lesson cancellation policy in place. This means any lesson cancelled within 48 hours of the lesson start time can still be charged for in full. I don’t like to do this and would rather just move the lesson for a different time!

After many years of wishing I could play a guitar, I finally took the plunge at 55 years of age and thankfully found you to teach me. From the very first lesson, your professionalism and enthusiasm for all things guitar has been apparent and fuelled my desire to learn and progress. Danny, the person, is kind, polite, courteous and has and nothing is too much trouble attitude toward his work.

Lessons are always relaxed, informal and great fun. You allow your students to learn at their own pace and encourage complete freedom in selecting the types of music they would like to learn, whilst ensuring important techniques and theory are being incorporated into the lesson.

Support for your students is second to none. I have always been provided with easy to follow hand-outs, advice and guidance in the form of follow up text messages and demonstration videos when I need them.

With your help and encouragement I am living my dream of being able to play guitar and enjoying every minute. I can’t thank you enough and are looking forward to many more informative and fun lessons.

“When looking for a guitar teacher it was a leap in the dark as I had no recommendations, however in finding you on the website I think I have struck gold. Your positive attitude in each lesson is infectious, you really engage with your students and listen to what they say, you infuse humour into the lessons making them less like hard work, you can always be heard encouraging them and you have the patience of a saint! As a parent for me, the most important things are that you are professional, punctual, accommodating and are always courteous.”
