My Lessons

Experienced Teacher

I have been writing and composing music for around the last 10 years and have been producing for nearly half of those. I am from Nottingham primarily but with the help of my manager I was able to connect with some major labels in London. This provided me with lots of opportunities to help write and produce songs for various artists from all different styles and genres.

In this day and age, knowing how to sing or play an instrument is only part of the journey. It is important to know how to record those sounds and how to get the best possible sound out of them. It is my passion to help you get comfortable and familiar with Logic Pro X so you are able to create your own songs from scratch, or to go on to produce high quality and professional sounding audio tracks.

Prices:

£18 per 1/2 hour
£28 per hour

Lessons are pay-as-you-go, weekly, fortnightly or as suits you.

Beginners & Advanced Students Welcome

No matter if you have never used Logic Pro before or if you have been using it for a long time and just want to take things to that next level, any student is welcome to take lessons with me.

My Experience as a Teacher

Growing up in Nottingham I started playing local shows as a musician in venues such as Rescue Rooms, Bodega and Rock City. Once my manager was able to connect me with some recording and producing opportunities in London I found myself enjoying the behind the scenes work more than the actual performing itself. From this moment onwards I started to write and produce songs for others artists and songwriters.

Over the years I have spent producing I have worked with many different artists from all different genres and musical walks of life. I've worked on Pop songs for UK, USA and Scandinavian artists as well as some K-Pop Library music and much more. I also write and release songs for my own project too under the name of GLVS (glas) and this is a project I am very proud of right up until this day.

I have songs with artists on Interscope (Universal USA), Virgin EMI and others coming soon also. As a producer I am currently represented by Saulty Dog Management which is owned by Mike Sault formerly of Warner Chappell Music Publishing. Sault has been responsible for music from some huge names such as One Direction, The Vamps, Paloma Faith, Sigala and many others.

More About My Lessons

Logic Pro is a very powerful piece of modern day technology. In the right hands and with the right guidance Logic really has no restrictions on what you can do with it. The possibilities truly are endless and it allows us to make and produce high quality beats and songs right from the comfort of our bedrooms. Our lessons will cover a wide range of topics, including how to navigate around the software in to each of the different menus.

Once you are feeling pretty comfortable and established with the layout of Logic the next thing would be to cover the basic functions that Logic provides. We will cover some basic musical theory such as time signatures, tempos, bars etc to make sure you have a solid foundation to build and develop your own songs from. Here we can then start to dive a little deeper and look at how to create your own soundscapes and noises that can be used in your original mixes.

As well as all the other topics we will heavily be covering composition and arrangement techniques to ensure that the final result you get is structured and arranged in a way to achieve the desired result you are looking for. For those new to MIDI, this is also something that will prove very beneficial when using Logic so the lessons I provide will also cover MIDI devices and how you can use them to program all kinds of wierd and wonderful sounds and effects.

Teacher Tips
What You Will Need

Here is some information on everything you'll need for an online lesson.

How To Take An Online Lesson

Here is some information to help you get prepared to take your online guitar lessons.

Speed Test, is a very useful tool as having a stable internet connection is one of the most important parts to these lessons. Here you will be able to see what your speeds are and we will only need a speed of 3mbps to have a stable enough connection for the lessons.

As well as a stable internet connection you will need to have access to some kind of electronic device that has a camera on it. This could be things like a laptop, tablet or a smartphone. Many things have cameras on them nowadays so once we have access to one of these you are ready to go.

Once you have a device ready to go, there are many services we can use to connect for the actual lessons. The most common and reliable services tend to be Zoom, Skype or Facetime for Apple device users. There are other options too so if these don't work for you for any reason please just let me know and we can go through other possible options together.
