My Mission

Relaxed and Fun Lessons

I take pride in offering fun and relaxed lessons for all of my students. I find that people tend to learn best and retain more information when they are studying in a comfortable learning environment. Learning any instrument can often be a little difficult at first so I will always do my best to help keep you feeling motivated, driven and excited about what you have just learnt in the lesson. I want you to be keen and eager to go and practice on any material we cover in between the sessions.

My main teaching method is to teach you the songs that you love by the artists you enjoy the most. By doing this not only do you get to grow and develop as a musician but you have fun along the way and get the added reward of being able to play along with your favorite songs at the end of it. I understand that all students will want different things from the lessons, as such I will always take the time to get to know you so I can tailor the material we cover to suit your specific needs and goals.

I believe that learning a new instrument is something that can be done at any age with the right training and guidance. I have experience working with students of all ages from 5 through to 65, so it's never really too early or too late to get started. I accept that a young student will learn differently than a adult student so will always adapt my teaching style and my lesson approach to suit the individual I'm working with.

My Experience as a Teacher

I am a classically trained violinist and have played/performed the violin for many years. I have achieved a Bachelors of Music (Hons) at the Royal Academy of Music in Marylebone, London. Since my first time playing the violin I have been very passionate about my instrument and music in general. I am very pleased to say I am now at a point where I can share this lifetime of skills with my students.

In my time as a musician I have been to many places starting in Romania, then moving to Canada and then finally to London where I live now. I received a First Class Honors at University as well as the Clarence Myerscough Centenary Award for my performance in my undergraduate final recital. Following this I was then welcomed back into my University to complete my studies at the Academy in Masters of Arts programme.

I have been fortunate enough to play and perform at some amazing venues across the country. Most notably I was lucky enough to perform at the Royal Albert Hall with the Academy's Symphony Orchestra. I have also had multiple performances at London’s Cadogan Hall and St. Paul’s Covent Garden. I have also worked alongside some amazing musicians such as Sir Mark Elder, Robert Trevino, Thomas Gould, Jac van Steen and Marin Alsop and the skills I have learnt from my time working with these has proven invaluable.

More About My Lessons

I have won numerous Canadian awards from the Kiwanis Music Festival, Kitchener Waterloo Symphony Youth Orchestra and competitions that I have attended. For many years I have been a top prize winner of the Canadian Music Competition. While here in London, I enjoy performing alongside the Ivor Trio and I have participated in countless orchestral performances, many times leading orchestras such as the Horton Chamber Orchestra

I like to take all of this real world performing and touring experience that I have and put this into my lessons. I will offer you tips and tricks to not only help you improve as a violin player, but I also want to see you grow and develop as an all round performing musician too. I have been very lucky to have worked with so many great musicians and to have such a vast amount of experience which I am now here to share with you.

When I begin teaching a new student, I like to make sure that I inspire them and teach them the true value and beauty of music. I believe I have a very thorough teaching approach and will cover any topic in large detail so that the information you learn will last and be an asset in your musical future. Above all else I like to keep my students on their toes and excited about actually making music and adding life to the notes they draw out of their instruments.
