Improve Ukulele Technique
When you join my ukulele lesson one of the first skills we’ll work on is strumming patterns. From basic downstrokes to syncopated rhythms, I’ll guide you step by step to build confidence and musicality. Strumming is about more than just moving your hand; we’ll explore how to feel the rhythm in a way that makes your playing dynamic and expressive. This is especially helpful if you're a beginner or exploring music for the first time.
Fingerpicking Techniques
If you'd like to add more texture to your playing, fingerpicking is a fantastic skill to develop. Through individual note plucks and patterns, I’ll show you how to create melodies that work beautifully as solos or complement group arrangements in a music course or band setting. Fingerpicking also helps enhance your note range and teaches you precision, skills that are invaluable for any ukulele player, whether you’re transitioning into bass guitar, guitar, or sticking to ukulele.
Chord Mastery and Progressions
One of the joys in ukulele playing is exploring its range of chords, which can sound vibrant and full even on a small instrument. I’ll teach you the essentials of chord shapes, transitions, and progressions to support your musical development. Beginner or advanced, we’ll incorporate music theory along the way to deepen your understanding of how chords work together. My role as your ukulele tutor is to make learning smooth and rewarding, with plenty of support along the journey.
