About

About

I was on The Voice 2014 part of Ricky Wilson’s team, making it to the final 12 (audition song ‘Crazy’ has over 2 million views on YouTube).

I am a singer/songwriter with my own home recording studio and am currently working with professional producers on my own music.

I have been successful in achieving leading roles in all musical theatre productions I have auditioned for and perform with equal ease in front of small groups of decision-makers as well as theatre or television audiences.

For my training as a singing teacher, I have worked alongside Ali Tennant, vocal coach to celebrities such as Sam Smith and Jessie J.

I have always had a natural propensity towards leadership, a fantastic ability to build confidence in even the most shy students and have a great imagination for developing unique ways of singing songs and flourishing students artist development skills. All of my education and tutoring gave me both the experience and a deep love of devising group harmonies and creating and choreographing group dance routines. I use these skills to bring out the best in my students whilst also stretching them to expand their singing and performance abilities.

I have studied the physical anatomy of the vocal system, which helps me teach my students the important skill of recognising the physical elements of singing and how to protect the voice.

Music Qualifications & Achievements include:

  • Triple Distinction*  in Acting, Dancing, Singing and Musical Theatre, at the Birmingham Ormiston Academy (sister to Brit School)
  • Grade 8 level Singing
  • Final 12 ‘The Voice 2014’
  • 9 years of successfully improving and developing many students voices.

Performance Opportunities, Performance Coaching & Accompaniment Services

I typically organise two musical showcases a year to give students experience on stage, in front of a audience, build confidence and show their progress.

I provide coaching for auditions, TV, musicals, school plays, poetry recitals, band members and choir/group performances etc.

I have developed techniques/warm ups to help keep the brain healthy and active that have helped some of my students who have learning difficulties, health conditions or impairments.

“Learning with Jazz has given me the confidence in myself to believe in myself when singing and performing. She shares her passion and love for music with her students which lets us share our passion with her and I would recommend her to anyone!”

“Jazz is a great teacher, very supportive and great source of knowledge about how to improve. For years I thought I could not sing but she helped me find my voice. Now I’m starting to write my own songs and even thinking about singing in public!!”

“I looove my singing lessons with Jazz she has taught me so much about enhancing my own voice. She finds what you’re good at and helps bring out the best. She even recommends songs that will really suit you if you can’t think of any and she’s always right! lol.”

“I have always considered myself a good singer and didn’t think I needed lessons but after just one lesson with Jazz I realised how much better I could become! She has definitely enhanced my strengths as well as improved my weaknesses and I learn something new every lesson. Jazz has proven to me that even if you are a good singer you need to exercise and train your voice. She definitely challenges me, gives great constructive advice and her lessons are always fun!”

“I have always had a great love of music so I thought id take a bold leap and start singing lessons. I’m so glad I did. I had singing lessons a long time ago and never found them that beneficial but with Jazz, I’ve come on leaps and bounds in a very short period of time. Through having lessons with Jazz I have found the confidence to gig as often as I can where I’ve made loads of new friends. I’ve also recently joined a band and I’m having personalised performance lessons with Jazz which I love! She teaches me things about performance that are so deep and intricate I’d have never thought about them myself. Who knew performing had so much thought and detail put into it! Amazing.”
