Welcome to
Hi everyone, My name is Melanie & I'm a professional piano teacher offering high quality piano lessons in the Pontypridd area. I really pride myself on providing high quality down to earth lessons where you can improve all aspects of your playing and understanding. I like to promote learning styles and genres that you are interested in & will always build my lessons around your own personal goals.
I love to promote both practice and playing in a positive way. My lessons are always as enjoyable as possible whilst still keeping an eye on the goals and targets that you want to achieve. Whether you just want to learn songs or want to learn theory, I will carefully prepare a lesson that suits what you want and compliments the direction that you want to learn in. I think keeping an element of fun when learning something new is one of the most important aspects of learning anything.
Learning to play the piano isn't easy, but through my lessons I really believe that you can get the best out of your playing and practice in a positive way. I like to make sure my students have good technique but also gain an understanding of music and what they are playing. I can teach everything from technique, song writing, song learning, scales, chords & much more. If you ever have something specific that you'd like to learn, please feel free to let me know and I can make sure we include it in our learning plan moving forward.

I'm an experienced performer and I always like to use this experience to make sure my students get the best possible tuition available.
I am a positive person, always open to new experiences, with a friendly, extrovert character who is highly organized, reliable and patient. I have a great deal of experience in teaching music to both adults and children, individually and in groups.
Lessons are pay-as-you-go, weekly, fortnightly or as suits you.
I welcome students of all ability level and all ages. I will always make a lesson plan that suits both your needs as a learner and your ability level as a player.
I graduated with a diploma in music. I also have a great deal of experience when it comes to teaching students of all ages. I like to make sure my lessons are tailored to the students needs. I've worked with students of all ages before and know how to make lessons that suit your needs and that go at a pace that you enjoy and can work well with.
From childhood on, I have been constantly involved in concerts, events, competitions, exhibitions, theatre, music, dance, and writing. During my Music School, I’ve been playing many concerts and performing in plenty of countries all over the world.
I have accomplished a variety of music courses specialized in Viola and Eurythmic for children and recorded educational songs for youth. Besides teaching the instruments I’m involved in singing and composing my music.
In my method of teaching, I focus on passing knowledge on to student in a proper order, which I organize individually as everyone has different predispositions and needs a particular approach. I don’t stick tight to the teaching templates which are not universal and often limit understanding the music and whole process of improvement. I truly believe that flexibility, openness and adaptation are the most crucial teaching skills which I hold in high regard as a tutor.
My multiple skills and interests give me a wide perspective when it comes to understanding music, art and performance and this helps me to enhance the experience of those who choose to engage in the creative process.
Sharing my knowledge and connecting with people through music and performance is my great passion. It is my vocation and nothing gives me more joy.
I would recommend travelling further for more choice when it comes to music shops but there are a couple in the local area.
Astrings, is the main music shop in the area which caters to guitar and bass players. They have a great range of instruments and equipment available and are located at 66 Broadway, Treforest, Pontypridd CF37 1BD.
