Funniest Things Students Have Said To You (All Teachers)

Opening it up to a more general “Funniest Things Students Have Said To You” – my one has to be, I was teaching a young student about 5 years of age and she came in one lesson very quiet. I asked her what was on her mind and she said “I’ve been thinking, you know drain covers – they are like cattlegrids for beetles”. My mind was blown:) haha!

One of the funniest things a student said to me was. “I cant do push ups” Meaning semi tone, tone or 1 1/2 tone bends.

One that always tickles me:

“I feel like I’m singing from my throat”

My response:

“That’s probably because that’s where your voice box is”

(*I know they are talking about a genuine problem, but that way of wording it makes me giggle every time)

I literally had something that made me nearly laugh out loud the other day.

I was teaching a young girl her first piano lesson and as we are learning the pitch names I was getting her to make words out of the letters e.g bag, cabbage, dad

I ask her what words she can think of and she sits there for a while thinking, and then says “What about ‘bae’?”
