My Experience as a Teacher

Whether you're brand new to the drums, need to brush up on your technique, or want to gain more confidence as a performer, I will work with you to help you reach your drumming goals in a relaxed & fun environment. I specialise in teaching Rock / Pop / Punk & Metal so if you like things fast & loud then you've come to the right place!.

Since discovering the drums at the age of 10 I quickly became obsessed with music. I began my musical journey taking drum lessons at school & forming bands with friends, before eventually studying for my degree in Professional Musicianship.

I now have over 15 years of studio recording & international touring experience, as well as a radio play on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 6Music, Kerrang!, Planet Rock & more.

The great thing about music is that you never stop learning – all of my lessons are bespoke to your needs to make sure that you are getting the best out of your time. Before we start, we will discuss your musical interests & goals, whether that's mastering some classic grooves, learning your favourite song, or preparing for an audition or exam.

I can teach all styles but specialise in teaching Rock / Pop / Punk & Metal so if you like things fast & loud then you've come to the right place to learn.

I teach drum lessons from my private teaching studio at Unit C-E, Level 1 South, New England House Business Centre, New England Street, Brighton, BN1 4GH. It is easily accessible by public transport & there is parking onsite.

Don't want to travel? Online lessons are an incredible way to learn the drums from home. I offer online drum lessons using Zoom with professional video & audio quality. PDF's are supplied with each lesson & I can help you get your equipment set up for optimum learning from home. No drum kit required!

GAK, located on 76-82 North Rd, Brighton BN1 1YD GAK is a UK wide music store chain where you can purchase a wide range of both drum and guitar equipment as well as anything else you can think of.

Hobgoblin Music, located on 108 Queens Rd, Brighton BN1 3XF. Is a family-run chain business with multiple stores in the UK. Hobgoblin has a great selection of used instruments if you are looking to get more for your money.

Ackerman Music, are a small music store located on 123-124 Queens Rd, Brighton BN1 3WB. Ackerman are specialists in classical instruments, sheet music, choir and lyric books.

How much do lessons cost?

My lessons are charged at £20 per half hour and £30 per hour for all students.

Where do the lessons take place?

I currently teach drums from my private teaching studio in PA Studios Brighton located on Manor Hall Road in Brighton, BN42 4NH. I am also able to offer drum lessons via Zoom or Skype.

What ages do you teach?

I can teach both adults and young learners and would recommend starting no younger than age 7.

Do I have to attend lessons every week?

Weekly lessons are recommended for the best results but not essential. You can learn as and when you like.

What happens if I have to cancel a lesson?

I reserve the right to charge full price for lessons that are cancelled with less than 24hours notice or missed without valid reason.
