Welcome to
Hello! I'm Paul Davies, a professional bass teacher based in Liverpool. I offer professional bass lessons for students of all ages.
I have been playing music professionally since 2015, and have played functions & gigs all over the country with many different bands.
In my second year of University I used my guitar playing skills to begin playing the bass guitar live in band settings and have been exploring this fantastic instrument ever since. Bass players like John Myung, Dave La Rue, Hadrian Feraud, Henrik Linder and Connor Green inspire me and push me to improve so my students can benefit from my constantly improving ability.
I take lessons at my home teaching space in the L31 postcode area but am more than happy to offer online teaching as well.

I offer high quality lessons for both beginner students and advanced students in a wide range of genres and styles
I am a classical guitarist from Liverpool who has been teaching guitar and music theory for over three years since graduation in 2016. I am capable of delivering electric guitar, bass guitar, ukulele, music theory and classical guitar lessons via Zoom or in person.
I graduated from Liverpool Hope University with a 2:1 and went self-employed in November 2019 running my sole trader music business called PJD Musical Services.
I have been performing in a rock band under various names since I was 14 and this is something I still do to this day. I am also a guitarist for hire and am capable of performing weddings, funerals, events, restaurants, fundraisers, functions and music shows of any sorts including for recording as a session player and as a recording artist.
Under my new business venture, I also deliver music lessons in primary schools for a company called Front Row Music based in Stockport, Manchester. I have a full DBS and deliver music and instrument lessons to a variety of ages of children from small to large groups.
My lessons are designed to suit your specific needs. We will work on all aspects of playing bass, through playing music genres you love, and learning at a pace you feel comfortable with.
Ultimately, I want to support you to achieve whatever goals you set yourself in music. Whether your goal is just to play at a decent level casually or to attain grade/performance standard, I am excited to play a part in your journey.
Liverpool's music-rich history leaves it with plenty of music shops. This is a blessing for anyone looking to get into music here as you can easily get your hands on anything you need. Here's a brief list of some of my favourite locations.
Rimmers Music, is a relatively new store having opened in 2014 but is one of their largest in the UK. The store space is modern and decorated with musical instruments at a good range of prices, from cheaper equipment ideal for beginners all the way up to the top of the range instruments with a professional sound. They are located on the way into Liverpool city centre at Savoy House, West Derby Road, L6 1AE.
Dawsons Music, Is a great store in the area. They have an impressive store floor full of kit, with stacks of shelves of impressive instruments and their accessories. Dawsons Music often has discounts on ex-display stock so are worth a visit on 14-16 Williamson Street, L1 1EB to see what you can get your hands on.
Protone Music, specialise in selling pre-owned instruments, as well as offering a repairs and set-up service. For those strapped for cash, shops like these can be a great way of picking up an instrument at lower prices. They are located at 38 Renshaw Street, L1 4EF.
I'm a professional bass teacher offering high quality bass lessons in the Liverpool area. I will use my experience as a guitar player, bass player and performer to make sure you get the most out of your lessons. For more information, feel free to send me an email at any time.
