Born in London, UK. Craig Tyler (aka Baggy) is a highly sought after Bassist, Vocalist, and Frontman with an international profile, available for Live, Studio and TV performances. Craig has been consistently at the top of his profession for decades and possesses great improvisation skills on both Bass and Vocals covering a wide range of genres from Pop, Funk, Rock, Hip Hop and Soul.
Craig or Baggy (originally nicknamed after the iconic madness Track ‘Baggy Trousers’) entered his musical career as a session bassist performing with some of the UK’s most renowned artists including Westlife and 80's icons Then Jericho. He took a step back In 2001, when Craig founded The Talent, an exciting collaboration between some of the best young instrumentalists of their generation, performing at high profile events and festivals across the globe.
As a bassist, vocalist, and bandleader he has entertained audiences at sporting and corporate events close to his heart, including Royal Ascot, UK Cricket Finals, FA Cup Winners Party and the 21st World Scout Jamboree for his HRH the Duke of Cambridge and 50,000 Spectators from around the world.
I provide bass, guitar and vocal tuition from my home music studio in Alresford, Essex (near Colchester) or remote sessions on Skype / Zoom in the U.K. and beyond. My teaching methods have been developed and refined through years of experience to design a tailored programme of learning to suit each individual student.
I welcome all ages and abilities with no previous experience necessary and aim to unlock your full potential, providing you with the technical knowledge, improvisational skills and overall musicianship you desire.
My goal is to leave you a well-rounded bassist, guitarist or vocalist while making sure the lessons are fun and enjoyable, yet practical. If you wish to gain a recognised qualification I also offer my students ROCK SCHOOL graded exams with a 100% pass rate or music theory tuition for the more academic student.

Music Warehouse, The Music Warehouse is known as "The Musicians Shop" It is a store for musicians run by musicians. They offer a variety of stock from new to second hand, so you can certainly grab a deal here. Alongside guitars The Music Warehouse stock amplifiers, effects pedals and even guitar recording equipment.
Mann's Music, Mann's Music is a long standing independent music store. Located on BLAH BLAH Mann's have a host of stock from Guitars, Basses, Pianos, Drums and even Orchestral instruments. Mann's also stock sheet music and all the resources needed to learn your favourite songs.

My lessons mostly take place at my home teaching space in the CO7 8AX area of Colchester. I am also able to offer online bass lessons.
I offer my lessons for students of all ages but would recommend starting no younger than 5 years old.
Weekly lessons are recommended for the best results but you can also take fortnightly lessons if that works for you.
At Bass Lessons Colchester we operate a 24-hour cancellation policy. Any lesson cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will still be charged full price. If you give enough notice, you're more than welcome to re-organsie the lesson.
