Music has been part of my life for as long as I can remember, all the way back to Cagliari, Italy, where I was born and raised. During these formative years, alongside studying classical guitar, private tuition in jazz guitar particularly fuelled my passion for modern styles, with the music of Jimi Hendrix, Santana, Led Zeppelin, and Pat Metheny providing a window to the fascinating world of rock, jazz, and blues.
Nowadays, as a freelance session guitarist and guitar tutor, I have a wealth of experience in live music, studio recording, session playing, and songwriting and enjoy the versatility and creativity of working across a wide range of genres, from pop and blues to acoustic folk and rock.
As a guitar teacher, I have been catering to beginners as well as those at an intermediate level and beyond. My lessons are a combination of practice and theory so the student will not only learn how to play a chord or a song but he/she will also understand how chords and scales work together.
I’m experienced in teaching kids as well as adults, I hold an enhanced DBS check and I can also help the student in case he/she is looking to attend a grade examination. I strive to make my lessons fun and interactive as I always provide bespoke studying materials.
They are personalized to fit the student needs – whether he/she just recently picked up a guitar, he/she is on a more advanced level, or he/she simply needs more inspiration and motivation to develop his/her existing skills. I love teaching and my greatest reward is seeing the student achieve his/her goals!
I offer discounts for bookings of 5 or more classes.
It is an extra £5-10 approx if the lesson is conducted at your house (depending on how far I have to travel).
I also offer transcriptions for acoustic and electric guitar, with tabs, standard music notation and lyrics in sync with the score. Please get in touch for a quote – I can also provide examples of previous transcriptions.

Filippo is a competent, knowledgeable, didactic, versatile and patient teacher. Highly recommend!
Filippo is a great teacher who I would recommend to anyone. Having been someone with some guitar experience but never having a lesson, he has helped me improve immensely just within a few lessons. He has taught me new techniques and helped me understand the music theory side.
A fantastic teacher making lessons fun and something to look forward to each time. He turns the pain that learning can be by yourself into an exciting journey and has taught me so much. Flippo really cares on a personal level and my technique and learning would not be where it is today without him. My favourite song I learned with him is All Of Me, he showed me all the different variations to make it sound really cool. As well as learning pop songs we have also covered classical music and even musical theatre too! Not only is he a great teacher but also an extremely talented guitarist, his skills and music blows me away.
Excellent work from Filipo, perfect transcription of guitar tune, done very quickly and professionally, will highly recommend Filipo to anyone for guitar tuition.
Great lesson tailored to my ability, lesson covered multiple techniques, and the theory behind them.
