Welcome to
Hi everyone, My name is Andrew and I'm an experienced player and teacher of the Saxophone based in Bristol offering high quality saxophone lessons for students of all ages in all the styles you enjoy.
I'm a very approachable person and I pride myself on providing high quality lessons that are easy to understand for all. Sometimes I have beginner students who want to start with the basics but other times I teach students who are experienced players who want to expand their knowledge or fix any bad habits. Regardless of which side you're on, I will always make sure to build my lessons around your playing level and personal goals.
In terms of what you'll learn during our lessons changes depending on who the learner is. I like to make sure I talk to all of my students about what they want to achieve before we even start learning. I like to make sure we are both together with the direction that you want to learn in.

I've been teaching for many years and during this time, I've taught students of all ages and from all playing backgrounds. I love to teach jazz but can also teach with a more classical angle or even help you learn well known pop and rock songs that you're interested in. I like to make sure my students let me know the styles that they love before we even start our lesson course.
I welcome both beginner and advanced players to learn with me. My lessons will be at a pace that you feel comfortable with and I love to make sure that we have a clear view of what we are going to learn together. Learning the Saxophone isn't easy and I fully understand that and this is why we will always take a calm and informative approach to learning to play the Saxophone.
Lessons are pay-as-you-go, weekly, fortnightly or as suits you.
I welcome both beginner and advanced players to learn with me. My saxophone lessons will always be built around you and taken at a speed that you can feel comfortable with.
Musician and educator for over 18 years, privately, in college and in schools for both the private and public sector. Beginner to advanced musicians welcome we will formulate a clear path to progression with lots of varied repertoire and techniques to help you feel progress at every step.
As both an educator and performer, I have spent over 10 years working as a musical director for most of the major cruise lines. Toured the UK and Europe in production shows and jazz venues and continue to always push myself for the next performance.
I teach both classical and jazz repertoire including improvisation, incorporating improvisation into every step to help develop aural skills. Originally I was taught in a band method with others and the benefits of playing in ensembles, although daunting, speeds progress and enjoyment.
My lessons are built around you and I pride myself on keeping a good student teacher relationship in terms of what direction we will be learning in. I'm always happy to answer all questions that students have about learning to play and this will never change.
I conduct many adult ensembles or varying abilities and will always try and help you find a group to join and experience the excitement of playing with others. My lessons are always built around my students and the styles that they love without loosing focus when it comes to understanding and theory. My lessons will help you develop your knowledge and create your own style as well as improve your playing in general. All of my lessons are always built around you and the styles & techniques that you want to work on.
It's never too early or too late to start playing, I have a great deal of experience in teaching beginners and advanced players. Regardless of your level, I will take the time to make sure you are developing good habits and healthy technique.
Bristol has a good range of music shops in the local area but here are a few that I would recommend to woodwind and brass players.
Headwind Music, Headwind music is the best place to go if you want to pick up a new Saxophone or get a repair done. You can find them at 19 Zetland Rd, Redland, Bristol BS6 7AH.
Trevor Jones, is a great place that specialises in brass instruments and repairs. They always have very friendly staff and the shop is locally run. You can find them at 13 Christmas Steps, Bristol BS1 5BS.
I'm a professional player and teacher who can help you improve your playing after only a few sessions. My lessons are student focussed, meaning that the lessons are built around the styles that you want to learn and we will work on both your strengths and weaknesses whilst identifying the best learning plan for you to improve.
