About

About

I’m Lewis, a musician who has been performing and teaching in the Aberdeen area for the past 17 years.

I started off teaching bass to my best friend’s brother and soon found myself with many guitar and bass pupils in the music shop Bruce Millers.

While at college I taught at Sound Ideas and later began piano teaching privately. Throughout this time I have been very active in the music scene, and so in lessons, there is an emphasis on practicality. This includes music theory.

I will show the pupil how it is relevant to the musical experiences they look for.

Music Qualifications & Achievements:

  • I have an HNC Music Performance, and have reached a high aptitude on bass, piano & guitar
  • I am known in the Aberdeen jazz scene, having maintained a monthly residency at The Sanddollar Cafe for 7 years, played at The Blue Lamp and The Aberdeen Jazz Festival. Also Edinburgh, Callander & Langtoun Jazz Festivals
  • The pinnacle has been the recording of “Mosaic”, the debut album which was successfully funded by The Prince’s Trust
  • Teaching is inspiring in that all that I discover musically can be passed on and made more accessible to another generation
