About

About

I’m Jonathan Draper and I teach piano and cello. I have lived in Sheffield for most of my life, where I make a living teaching and performing. My classical background led me to attend Trinity College of Music in London. Since leaving music college, my teaching and performing have grown to encompass classical music, jazz, folk, blues and pop.

I have taught the cello at Birkdale School and Ashdell School. I now maintain a private teaching practice from my home in Crosspool, Sheffield S10, teaching piano, cello and music theory, as well as teaching piano for Tunedin Music School in Rotherham. I teach the ABRSM exam syllabus to grade 8 on both instruments, and I also encourage improvisation as part of my lesson plan.

I am a friendly and patient teacher, and my aim is always to teach you the music that you love. I passionately believe that enjoyment and creativity are the keys to successful lessons.

All ages and abilities are very welcome.I have a recent DBS check.References are available upon request.
