About

About

Hello! My name is Jacob Powell and I am a London based musician.

I have played guitar and drums for over 14 years and am an experienced gig player in and around London, having played in multiple bands and as a solo singer-songwriter.

Over the years I have taught and led workshops for things such as music, acting and other subjects too and want to expand my teaching experience even further through an online source.

My focus is predominately on beginner level guitar students who are wanting to get started in the world of music and need someone to help them begin their journey! My teaching style is all about having fun and trying to cater the lesson and its objectives to each individual learner, including learning the songs and styles that would best suit you!

My most proficient genres for music teaching include Rock, Pop, Indie and Blues – but this can be changed and adapted depending on what you as the student wants!

Music Qualifications & Achievements:

My official list of qualifications is below:

  • Rose Bruford College – BA Hons – Actor Musicianship
  • London Centre Of Contemporary Music – Diploma in Music Performance
  • Grade 5 – Electric Guitar

Alongside this, I have played guitar in bands for over 10 years – playing with London band Big Wednesday and The Kid and I and recording various EP’s and Singles along the way.

I am also currently a Teaching Assistant in a school – this experience combined with my music knowledge qualifies me to definitely get you started on your musical journey!
