About

About

I have been teaching the piano for over sixteen years. I gained a distinction for my grade 8 piano exam and gained a grade A in A-level music prior to studying music at the University of Bristol where I gained a BA (Hons) with a 2.1, which included piano performance as part of my degree.

I offer professional piano tuition in a wide range of styles and genres but above all else, I want my students to enjoy what they learn & I will always go out of my way to make sure our lessons are always enjoyable for all. I strive to help each student work to their full potential and I offer bespoke lessons tailored to the individual. I am passionate about playing the piano and love to share my knowledge with others to help them develop their skills as pianists whether they are 5 or 75!

Before entering my studies I have taken part in local competitions where I gained two medals. I particularly enjoy playing piano music from the nineteenth century by composers such as Schubert, Chopin, Liszt, Brahms etc and I also enjoy improvising on the piano at leisure. I have studied the history of music as part of my music degree and enjoy sharing my knowledge with my piano students.

I teach the piano to students from age 5 upwards from beginner level up until grade 8 level. I have more than a 95% pass rate for ABRSM piano exams of which 47% of my students have gained a distinction. I also teach music theory and can prepare students for exams if they so wish or entirely for leisure.

For your peace of mind, I am also DBS Checked. Every student is unique and I like to both challenge and encourage them at their own pace and ability.

Amazing teacher , amazing person , great musical knowledge, it’s more like a journey than the normal lessons and I was lucky to be there from the very first lesson with my daughter who just passed her grade 2 piano exam with merit thanks to Mrs Emma .

For anyone who considers getting a piano teacher- you’ll be lucky if you can get a space and be taught by Mrs Emma !

We are really great full that our paths crossed and she transformed our little girl into a piano player ( Daddy’s dream ) .

Thank you very much Emma !!!
