About

About

Hello, my name is Chris and I’m a teaching professional based in Nottingham. I have years of experience and in my time I have taught one to one, in groups large and small and at schools and colleges. I teach all styles, ages and abilities. Each lesson is tailored to your needs.

If you would like to go down a guitar grade route I teach the Rockschool and RGT syllabus and have a 100% pass rate on my students’ exams. I cover all aspects of learning from technique, theory, composition, improvisation, sight reading and more.

Music, guitar and teaching are my passion and I always strive to make my lessons as enjoyable, interesting and tailored to individual needs as I can.

I can do home visits or you are welcome to come to my studio in Nottingham city centre. When I’m not teaching guitar I’m an active live musician I play in bands and get the privilege of travelling across the country playing for people.

Music Qualifications & Achievements:

  • RGT Guitar Grade 8 and Associate Diploma with the London College of Music
  • Playing to a few thousand people at gigs across the country, I still play live most weekends, it’s always an honour
  • All my students who take exams have passed, never a fail and I’m incredibly proud of that

Since I have known Chris I have always found him to be friendly, reliable and helpful. In the time my son has been having lessons I have seen him progress greatly, and his ambitions for what can achieve widen. He has performed his first gigs and is always interested in developing further as a guitarist.

Chris has provided my teenage daughter Sarah with home based guitar tuition for over 12 months. We have found him to be reliable, punctual and courteous. More importantly Sarah has really enjoyed learning with him.

Chris is a young bright musician. Clearly motivated by his affection for the guitar and music. His teaching style and methods vary from lesson to lesson and therefore repetition is never an issue. Clearly, a talented guitarist himself he has a great ability to teach both theoretical and practical aspects of guitar playing. He is very contentious, punctual and flexible. Would strongly recommend Chris to anyone interested in learning the guitar.

Chris is flexible, friendly, reliable and extraordinarily patient. Not to mention, an absolute monster on the guitar! He always has a smile on his face and genuinely loves seeing his students improve. I couldn’t recommend Chris highly enough for all ages, styles or abilities. In the year and a half I have been with him I have improved beyond all my expectations.
