Welcome to Piano Lessons Hammersmith, my name is Hilary Yip and I am offering professional Piano lessons to students of all ages and abilities in the Hammersmith area.
I have been playing and teaching the Piano for a short while now and I am looking to expand this as a career and work with many other students. I believe that learning an instrument should be a fun experience and as such I always try to keep my lessons relaxed but informative.
My lessons are tailored and suited to students of all ages and backgrounds so whether you're looking to play the Piano for the first time or you are just looking to progress to that next level my lessons cater for all students. Together we will work through songs and material to suit your particular musical tastes.

I offer lessons to students of all ages (6+) so no matter how old you are, it's never too late or too early to get started. I understand that Adults learn different to children and will always adapt and tailor my lesson plans to meet the needs of that individual.
My main method of teaching is by teaching you the songs you love. I think it's important to be learning pieces that suit your style and involves the music you like. This helps motivation when practicing and will allow for us to make steady progress throughout the lessons.
Lessons are pay-as-you-go, weekly, fortnightly or as suits you.
My lessons are suitable for students of any ability. If you're just looking to play some simple pop songs, or enhance your Jazz harmony my lessons are appropriate for all levels.
Introduction to Piano.
I found my passion for music at a very early age and have been playing musical instruments like the Piano and Cello for most of my life. Over this time I have developed a rather wide set of advanced skills that I am now ready to share with you! I have a real passion for helping people with their instruments and love helping them to grow and develop as a musician.
I started my teaching career initially teaching family and friends, but this is something I really enjoyed to do and wanted to pursue further as an actual career path. I am a very passionate musician and just love all things music. I have been a Principal Cellist for two years in Secondary school as well as a soprano section leader for one year.
For around the last 10 years, I have also competed in many different competitions specifically in the Hong Kong Music Schools Festival and have been awarded with a first place in Piano Solo and Third place in a Piano duet. I have also been a part of many master classes and other music festivals. All this experience has allowed me to grow and develop as a musician myself and I am now ready to share these with you.
Complex Songs, Advanced Theory, Technical Exercises
I am currently studying and have almost achieved my BMus Hons Degree specifically specializing in Piano at the Royal College of Music. I have performed in a few different countries now including the USA, Italy and Hong Kong. I started taking Piano lessons at the age of 6 and have continued this throughout my whole life. I love playing the Piano and still have a real passion for it today.
I have studied and also achieved an ABRSM Grade 8 in Music Theory at a grade Merit. I can comfortably and confidently teach all theory from Grade 1 - 5. I have also passed a dipABRSM piano examination at Distinction Level. All this experience combined allows me to provide well rounded Piano lessons for all students.
As a passionate multi instrumentalist I have a real drive for teaching people how to play the Piano and love being a part of that journey. Together we can decide on a list of songs and exercises that you would like to learn, and work through these allowing you grow and develop in to the musician you've always wanted to be.

Markson Pianos, is located 7-8 Albany St, London NW1 4BU and is a great place for you to try when it comes to buying a piano or accessories. Here they offer and huge selection of new and used pianos to suit any price range.
J Reid Pianos, is located 184 St Ann's Rd, Tottenham, London N15 5RP and is another really good location for all things Piano. Here they sell new and used upright and Antique Pianos, as well as offering services.

Together we can decide on a selection of songs that suit your musical tastes and we can begin studying and dissecting all your favorite songs. This way not only do you get better at playing the Piano but you also get to play those songs you've always dreamed of too.

Lessons are £35 for an hour or £25 for half an hour.
I teach the majority of my lessons from a home teaching space in Hammersmith W12 9PL. I am also a mobile teacher willing to travel within a short distance around London for face to face lessons. I also offer lessons online, either way lessons can take place from the comfort of your own home.
I teach students of all ages 6+.
No you can attend lessons as frequently as suits you. I would recommend one hour a week for the most consistent progress.
Any lessons cancelled within 48 hours of the lesson can still be charged for. I am always happy to try and reschedule cancelled lessons where possible.
