My lessons are open to both young learners and adults & I will make a lesson plan that suits your ability level.

My Experience as a Teacher

I have been teaching for over 40 years now, maybe because I love it so much! I teach piano, flute, recorder, music theory, and give extra aural training lessons to students of other teachers who don’t have the time in their own lessons to cover the aural tests in the run-up to exams. I teach all kinds of music from classical to pop, and grade 5 theory for those who are taking GCSE music or who need to pass grade 5 to progress with their practical exams.

I have worked in many of my local schools over the years, currently, I am principle piano and music theory teacher at a large private girls school. Because I have been teaching for so long, I have taught two generations of some families, which makes me feel old, but also pleased that they enjoyed my teaching so much, they came back for lessons for their children.

I will use my teaching experience to make sure your lessons are always of the highest quality. I like to make sure my lessons are also enjoyable as I truly feel the best way to improve as a player of any instrument is to enjoy what you are learning.

More About My Lessons

My lessons are built around the styles and artists that you enjoy whilst making sure all of my students have a solid grounding of theory and a great understanding of music and how it works. I can also teach graded exams if you want to go down that route.

Piano is a great instrument and I believe that no two students are the same. Meaning that your experience with me as a teacher will be completely tailored to you as a student. I think that learning how to play an instrument can be very daunting but I will always be approachable and easy to talk to whenever you need guidance or help with anything.

Currently around half a dozen of my ex-pupils are working as music teachers, and they tell me I was their inspiration, which makes me feel very proud and humble too. My favourite thing about teaching is that no two days, no two lessons and no two pupils, are the same, and I have to adapt and learn how to teach each one of them in a way that means something to them.

Poco Loco, is your best bet if you are looking for a local styled venue whee you can find plenty of local bands performing live. They are located at 58-60 High St, Chatham ME4 4DS.

At the moment, I offer both online an mobile piano lessons. My mobile lessons are charged at £25 per half hour and £45 per hour and online at £18 per half hour and £35 per hour for all students.

Where do the lessons take place?

I'm a mobile teacher which means that I will travel to you for the lessons.

What ages do you teach?

I teach both children (6+) and adults in a wide range of styles and genres.

Do I have to attend lessons every week?

for the best results, I would recommend weekly or fortnightly lessons depending on your schedule.

What happens if I have to cancel a lesson?

Lessons cancelled with less than 48 hours notice will still be charged full price.
