    Hi guys,

Have recently been added to the group; teaching singing in Plymouth since about February time.
I thought it might be fun to share their ideas and organization tips for lesson plans, notes after classes, etc! For example do you have a folder for each student and how do you keep track of their short term and long term musical goals?
I am a scatterbrain and I struggle to keep on top of everything😂, and like a lot of singing teachers I’m also a gigging musician with lots of other musical commitments! Thinking of going old school and back to paper planners!

I have a filing cabinet with everyone’s names in with separate folders, so as soon as I have a student I can just find them in the filing cabinet and it’s a lot easier then paper everywhere!

I use google docs with an admin folder for stuff I send out to students (like contract) and room booking stuff and another folder for students. Each student has a different folder in that folder with lesson plans, lesson notes, recordings and info about that student. I’m also a bit of a scatter brain so I make sure I put lessons in my calendar for each week and make a note of dates and times of lessons in each lesson plan.

I have a book/diary and make notes after each lesson. I’d never remember everything otherwise that I’ve asked them to prepare/practice for next lesson. I just have lots and lots of books with old records in. I can carry that around with me then too.
