Quiet in summer? (All Teachers)
Posted by Jordan Hodson on June 24, 2024 at 8:54 amHello,
In the past few weeks or so I have noticed a significant dip in students and wondered if anyone else is experiencing this?

Hi Jordan,
It is a great question, I know that a lot of teachers and students are taking their first proper holiday in 18 months – so there are a lot of people away at the moment. So I think this is a part of what you are experiencing.
September will be a significant month in terms of people restarting and returning to a lot of activities that they have not undertaken for the last 2 years or so.

I’ve had a few people take a few weeks off because of holidays which is annoying but I’ve also been getting a few new students so this has been too bad for me. So hopefully in September I’ll have even more students and I’ll be starting 2 days in 2 different primary schools as a peripatetic guitar teacher.

In my experience every August is like this. Now I don’t worry because I’m fairly certain now that people return in September (and you start making money again!)
Don’t worry and try to enjoy the down time. You’ll be busy again soon enough

Thank you! definitely put my mind at rest I was worried I was doing something wrong!
Hopefully will pick up again soon.
