Early Childhood Instrumental Music Education
Dear Colleagues,
I need your help 😍 ….My name is Luc Nijs. I am a professor and head of the bachelor’s program in Music Education at the University of Luxembourg (LU).
As a researcher, I have a particular interest in learning to play an instrument at a young age (5-7 years).
In both formal music education and beyond, we have seen an increase in instrument lessons for young children in recent years. I am very curious about the beliefs, insights, and strategies of the many teachers who offer such lessons in a professional manner.
For this reason, I am launching a survey that explores these beliefs, insights, and strategies. In addition, I would like to investigate how they relate to the personal background (e.g., education, teaching experience, performance experience) of these teachers.
If you’re a music teacher, musician, or music teacher trainer, it would be so great if you would be willing to support my research and complete the survey.
On average, it takes 45 min .. I know, it’s long … but that’s because I’m really interested to know more about your perspective on this topic. You can find the survey here: http://survey.ecime.org. You can respond in 10 languages!
I made a video about it, you can find it here: https://bit.ly/ecime_survey
As it takes some time, some people like to take a break and continue later. That is ok of course, but in that case it is important to save your responses. There is a button on the top right of the page. If you do not save your responses, they might get lost due to a server time-ou (I know.. annyong, but my uni didn’t want to change it…)
Hoping many of you will respond and help me gain further insights on this wonderful topic!
Thank you!!
Warm greetings,
Luc
