I say good for you. I wouldn’t put up with the same person for that long. It’s all about one in, one out in my flat. Aware of how that just sounded, I don’t have a red light in my window or anything.

Great idea, Chris. If you and the student feel it works, it works:)

cool nice to have some positivity round the idea. It’s definitely harder to be present with the same person for such a long time but the results are there and the students are happy

I do apologise! I didn’t mean to sound negative. It’s great when a student is that determined and want a good long sesh to really benefit from a teacher. It’s flattering and you can make more money of course:)

Personally no, partly because my own attention span does not last longer than an hour so if I’m losing attention of myself I would feel very sorry for the student!!!

However, there are lessons that I teach that really engage me and sometimes the time passes really quickly

From a perspective,90 minutes or 2 hours is too long.My students have an hour or children half an hour,if they run over time because they want to,there is no extra charge.I have a teacher who has fell on hard times ,because of personal problems, she pays for half an hour ,though has a full hour until times get better.I realise some tutors have more overheads and often is only income. So everyone has a different agenda.Nothing worse than a student who wants to get out.
