My name is Michael & I'm a professional player and teacher based in Manchester offering high quality Clarinet lessons for ages 5+. My lessons are always built around the styles and genres that you enjoy playing in your spare time.
As an educator, I pride myself on getting genuine enjoyment from all the students I teach. I welcome students of any age, as I have experience teaching ages 4+ on a variety of instruments, and I have extensive experience working with students of all ages.
I get great enjoyment from teaching beginners but also thrive off mentoring post-grade 8 students to achieve a higher level of playing. I welcome learners of all ages in a wide range of styles.

I like to build my lessons around the learner & around the music that you enjoy and listen to in your spare time. I will create a lesson plan that is both enjoyable and suits your needs.
My lessons can be moulded around you and can go in any direction. I will ensure you have a good grounding of music theory but can also tutor you in a wide range of styles including Pop, Jazz & Classical.
Lessons are pay-as-you-go, weekly, fortnightly or as suits you.
I have experience in teaching students of all abilities. I'm open to teaching students of all ages & will tailor make a lesson plan that best suits your needs.
Hi, my name’s Michael. I teach the clarinet, bass clarinet, saxophone, theory and composition.
Having completed my undergraduate degree at the Royal Northern College of Music in the clarinet, I then went on to study a composition Masters at the same institution whilst remaining active as a freelance player.
My teaching experience includes Yorkshire Young Musicians, RNCM Junior School, The National Youth Orchestra and Aldeburgh Young Musicians as well as numerous schools and colleges in the Manchester area.
My lessons are always built around the styles and genres that you enjoy. I feel that this allows students of have more focus and helps students have a clear goal in mind when learning.
I have experience in playing and performing and I like to use these to make sure you get the best out of your lessons. I can help you with everything from your technique to building confidence in yourself and your playing. If you have a particular goal to work towards then please let me know what that is.

I take most of my lessons from my home teaching space in the M14 7WR area of Manchester.
I think music should be for everyone & because of this, I offer my tuition to students of all ages in a wide range of genres & styles.
Weekly lessons are recommended for the best progress but not essential. You can learn as and when you like.
If you cancel a lesson with less than 48 hours notice you will still be charged for the lesson.
