Hi everyone, My name is Richard & I'm a professional bass player offering high quality bass lessons for students of all ages in a wide range of styles and genres. My lessons are always built around the styles and genres that you love and we will always learn in a direction that you want to learn in. I will always make a personalised lesson plan for all of my students.
I want my students to know that they have a down to earth teacher who can help them learn in an enjoyable way. That's me, I will guide you through all of the essential theory whilst making sure we aim towards learning the styles and genres that you love to listen to in your spare time.
I have a great range of performing and playing experience and this is something that I will always use to improve the quality of my tuition. I can help you with your playing and even help you gain more confidence to play or perform in front of others. In addition to that, I can also help you learn to write songs and much more.

Before we start learning, I will always make sure to discuss what your goals are and that together we make a clear pathway to improving them. If you want to learn for fun or have some serious goals you wish to reach, I'm sure we can make sure you're on the right path together.
Above all else I promote practice and I will make sure it's clear to all my students what they should be practicing and what they shouldn't be practicing. I will help you pick up positive playing habits that will help you nurture your playing over a short period of time. I offer lessons for both beginners and I have a track record of helping advanced players fix old habits as well.
Lessons are pay-as-you-go, weekly, fortnightly or as suits you.
Over my time as a teacher, I have had many students approaching me from all levels and backgrounds of playing as well as wanting to learn a wide range of styles. I offer my tuition to both beginners and advanced players alike.
I like to pay close attention to detail for all of my students and help you kick bad habits.
I have been playing in Cambridgeshire bands and teaching guitar and bass professionally since 1994, an intuitively experienced guitarist & bassist and a skilled confident teacher, I have been able to successfully coach literally hundreds of keen & aspiring guitarists and bass players in the last 25 years.
From the age of 7 years, old I always had a love and passion for music and has been playing live and recording with numerous bands since I was 16.
Alongside my private guitar teaching, I remain a very active musician. I currently play bass for the alternative Indie band The Contrast, who are with Steven Van Zandt’s New York City record label WickedCool and Angel Air Records here in the UK, as well as The Expletives – an exciting punk & new wave tribute band.

I like to make sure my students learn the same way that I did and that I can share my passion for music with all my students. I find that I'm enthusiastic about everything music and this is something that I think my students should try to do as well. We will always work to your strengths and improve any weaknesses you might have.

Breve Music, Breve Music is the best option if you're looking for an all round shop that stocks everything from pianos to bass guitars as well as all the rest. You can find them at Rivergate Arcade, 27 Viersen Platz, Peterborough PE1 1EL.
GTR Music, is a small independent store that sells guitars and strings as well as some sheet music if you need it. The staff are always really helpful so make sure to drop by the shop at 16 The Rookery, Orton Wistow, Peterborough PE2 6YT.
I'm a bass player and teacher that has had a load of experience in teaching bass to students of all ages & I can't wait to share my knowledge with as many new learners as possible. There is so much to cover when it comes to playing bass and music in general and I will always try to make sure we learn in a direction that you feel comfortable with. My lessons are currently charged at £10 per half hour and £20 per hour for students of all ages.
I take my lessons from my home teaching space in Peterborough. This is a great place to learn to play the bass.
I currently offer my tuition to students of all ages and have experience in teaching both adults and young learners.
Weekly lessons are one of the best ways to improve your playing but I also offer fortnightly lessons for those who prefer their lessons to be more spaced out.
Lessons cancelled with less than 48 hours notice will still be charged full price.
